Kids' Bird Journals & Nature Notebooks
We give 20% of profits to bird conservation and inclusive birding efforts.
Why this collection exists
Kids who notice birds turn into adults who notice everything. These journals and notebooks are built for the early years of that habit. Big enough lines for new handwriting, prompts that don't feel like homework, and covers a kid will actually want to carry to the backyard or the trail.
What's inside
- Bird journals. Pages designed for logging sightings: species, date, where, what it was doing. Some include simple field-mark prompts so a kid can start to notice color, size, and behavior the way real birders do.
- Nature notebooks. Open-ended pages for drawing, taping in feathers and leaves, or writing about what happened on a walk. Less structured than the bird journals, more room to wander.
- Spiral-bound and softcover options. Spiral lays flat in the field. Softcover slides into a bag. Pick what fits how your kid actually uses a notebook.
Who it's for
Roughly ages 5 through 12, give or take a reader. Younger kids can use the drawing pages and grow into the prompts. Older kids who already keep a life list will appreciate the structured logging pages. Great for homeschool nature study, summer programs, scout troops, grandparent gifts, and any family that already takes walks with binoculars.
FAQ
Are these printed on demand?
Yes. Our paper products are produced through a print-on-demand partner, which keeps the catalog wide and the waste low. Expect a few extra days of production time before shipping.
Can adults use them too?
Absolutely. The kid-friendly covers and prompts make them approachable, but the logging pages work fine for any beginning birder. We also have a separate adult bird journals collection if you want something more grown-up in design.
Do you offer printable PDF versions?
Some titles are available as digital downloads. Check the individual product pages, since not every journal has a PDF twin.
